Pink Ribbon Charity Walk 2025

Beatrice Lessi

Zurich’s most beloved walk/run—and the best-kept secret locals won’t tell tourists.

🌟 Highlights of the Day

– We blew bubbles into the sky like joyful toddlers at a birthday party.
– We threw our hats in the air—some landed gracefully, others hit strangers (sorry, Max!).
– We formed a giant pink ribbon with our bodies, like synchronized swimmers minus the pool.
– We made hearts with our hands, did the wave, and warmed up with music, laughter, and a few questionable dance moves.
– Kids played free games, adults scoped out local celebrities, and one lucky person might now be the proud owner of a brand-new car.

All of this happened yesterday, August 31st, at the 18th annual Pink Ribbon Charity Walk —Zurich’s most joyful, pink-powered event that turns the Letzigrund Stadium into a glowing hub of solidarity and celebration.

Thousands of participants from across Switzerland gathered in radiant pink to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. In a world where one in eight women faces a breast cancer diagnosis, this walk is more than a feel-good afternoon—it’s a powerful symbol of hope, unity, and the importance of early detection.

🎶 Music, Magic & Michael Epiney

A major highlight was the live performance of three songs from the upcoming Pink Ribbon Music Show 2026, featuring Swiss stars like Linda Fäh, Tiziana Gulino, Jesse Ritch, Eliane Müller, Jane Bogaert—and for the first time ever, Michael Epiney. Freshly married and freshly brave, Michael took the stage in front of thousands, revealing a hidden musical talent that left the crowd stunned and Sven Epiney beaming with pride.

The show, titled Zäme simer stercher (“Together We Are Stronger”), will debut in January 2026 at the Dolder Grand in Zurich. Expect a moving blend of storytelling and Swiss-German songs that celebrate courage, friendship, and community.

💖 A Moment of Quiet Solidarity

One of the most touching moments came when thousands of soap bubbles floated into the sky, creating a shimmering cloud of color above the crowd. It was silent, beautiful, and deeply moving—a shared breath of compassion.

🎟️What your ticket supports

Depending on your ticket tier:
– Bronze (CHF 45)– includes a CHF 10 donation
– Silver (CHF 55)– includes a CHF 20 donation
– Gold (CHF 105)– includes a CHF 70 donation

Every ticket includes a Pink Ribbon T-shirt and cap, plus a Give-Away Bag. Most importantly, proceeds go to the BRIDGE breast cancer study,  which explores how holistic treatment paths—including complementary-integrative medicine—can improve patients’ quality of life. This year’s walk raised an impressive CHF 70,000*, fully funding the study for the first time ever.

🏃‍♀️ The Walk (or Run)
The 4 km route is yours to walk, jog, or sprint. I ran—with a dramatic final sprint that made me feel like I was crossing the Olympic finish line.

The combination of sunshine, music, and a sea of pink gave me a mood boost that’s still going strong. If you’ve never joined the Pink Ribbon Charity Walk, make next year your first. It’s not just an event—it’s a memory waiting to happen.
