The New Live it Well
Swiss people love to stay in shape at their own schedule – they work hard, enjoy hiking and the nature, love eating organic food. It’s no surprise that a program called Vitality was developed in Switzerland and has been more and more successful each year: it is about going at your own pace, about putting work and fitness together, and about enjoying good healthy food. Typical Swiss!
Where can you find it, and what is it exactly?
First of all, the initiative was created by Swissôtel Hotels & Resort .
Swissôtel has always been in close connection to sport. Only at Swissôtel Le Plaza Basel (the one you see in these photos), for example, have stayed the FC Bayern München, ManU and Paris St. Germain teams during Champions League. Le Plaza is also the official hotel of the Swiss indoors ATP 500 tournament, so guests like Rafael Nadal, Juan del Potro, Marin Cilic, Alexander Zverev, and Denis Shapovalov return here regularly.
On top of that, the thriving Vitality program has been developed. It is yet another example of the world-famous Swiss excellence, and includes:
- In-room equipment you can order at any time (Aero step, Swiss ball, Thera band, Sportsmap, Pilates ring)
- A set of exercise cards to guide you at any time
- Expert advice on fitness
- Guidance about the hotel surroundings, for jogs and walks at any level (also available on Google maps)
- Fully equipped gym
- A large selection of healthy and light food and drinks
- A smoothie bar
- Organically grown coffee
- Focus on the three following subjects: Vitality in Movement, Vitality in Cuisine, Vitality in Meetings
Last but not least, I was very impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff was. Everybody made me feel very welcome and really wanted to help me relax and recharge, but also to venture into something new. I stayed at Swissôtel more than once, to work. But this time I also managed to experience in-deep the brand ethos: open, energetic, happy and passionate.
June at Swissôtel is Vitality Month, so one gets exposed to all the initiatives with welcome gifts, brochures, refreshments and when checking in. I wanted to try it all, so I made sure I ordered my in-room equipment and fresh fruits almost immediately.
I worked, exercised in the room, then also paid a visit to the gym. A book and the whirlpool were the well deserved prize of the late afternoon, followed by a fabulous dinner.
What I liked most was following my own pace, and having a laugh with some staff and some colleagues. For sure I’ll be back, because I felt so refreshed.
