My Best – and Newest – Trick for the Perfect Sleep

Beatrice Lessi

You know it already. I know it already. We’re all hooked.
The phone glows, your thumb scrolls, and suddenly it’s midnight and you’re reading about how octopuses dream (yes, they change color—look it up).
Cheap dopamine. Endless entertainment. Brain = mush. And that innocent “one quick look” before bed? It’s a trap. A very sparkly one.

But here’s my latest—and honestly best—trick:
Two digital detox days per week. Boom. Revolutionary? Not really. Effective? Oh YES.

I tracked it all with my Garmin watch (because, you know, I _love_ numbers):
– Longer, deeper sleep
– Resting heart rate drops like it’s on vacation
– Full body battery in the morning, not just a blinking bar of regret

The most dramatic change? Sleep quality, hands down.

I know what you’re thinking: “Two full days without Instagram?” Don’t panic. Start with half a day. Or even just the evening. Baby steps away from the dopamine waterfall.

And here’s the twist—without the blue light and noise, your brain _actually_ starts thinking again. You know, like it used to. You might even find yourself staring out the window like a philosophical cat. 🐈‍⬛

Go on. Try it. Your dreams (and your Garmin) will thank you.
